# Juntos: Two to four devices, one room, no internet.

Same room games

Open the app on each phone or iPad and they find each other over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. No codes, no lobby, no server. Six games, every one cooperative or gentle turn taking.

Coming soon to the App Store

App Store: soon

- 2 to 4 devices, one room
- iPhone and iPad
- English and Spanish
- Rated 4+
- Works offline

Ana's iPhone and Beto's iPad find each other with nothing in between. Ana taps Beto, Beto taps Join, and Ana's device becomes the host.

No setup

## No codes, no lobby, no server

The devices find each other over peer to peer Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Tap a chip to invite, tap Join to accept. That is the whole connection flow.

1. 1

Ana taps Beto's chip on her screen.

2. 2

   Beto taps Join on his.

Nothing to set up first

- Room codes
- A lobby
- Accounts
- A server
- A router
- The internet

### It works where there is no signal

A cabin, a plane, a car park. There is no network call in the app at all, so there is nothing to be down.

Free game

## Half a picture

One picture is cut into as many pieces as there are players. Each device shows one piece and three whole pictures. Talk, then everybody taps the same one.

No screen shows what anybody else tapped until every tap is in. Try it: you hold both devices.

Ana's iPhone

Beto's iPad

**That is the one** Elephant. Two pieces, one picture, and the table talked its way there.

### Three devices, three pieces, one elephant

With three at the table the picture is cut in three. Nobody has all of it, so the round is won by talking: "mine has feet", "mine has a big ear".

Half a picture is free, in full, with its solo mode.

1. **1**The host sends the whole game, on every change.
2. **2**The host walks out of the room.
3. **3**The others read The game ended, and sit down again.

One truth

## The host owns the game

One device holds the state and broadcasts all of it, so no two screens can disagree. If it walks out of range, the table says so plainly and reforms.

When the host picks a game, every device turns the page together. When a round lands right, it chimes on every device at the same moment.

When the table comes apart

- ### A device drops out

With enough players left, the game carries on. With too few, the host holds the seat for thirty seconds and keeps looking, so it can come back.

  Waiting for Beto, 30 seconds

- ### Somebody taps Leave

That is not a Wi-Fi hiccup. The device says so first, and a two device game ends at once.

  Somebody left

- ### The host walks off

Every other device goes back to the table with the same words. No crash, no half finished state.

  The game ended.

- ### Two app versions

The chip says so, and the invitation is refused rather than half working.

  Needs an update

Six games

## Six games, none with a loser

Half a picture, Describe and draw, Memory across devices, a treasure hunt, a story chain and a race board. Cooperative or gentle turn taking, never trash talk.

- Free

  ### Half a picture

Everyone holds one piece. Talk, then all tap the same picture.

One picture is cut into as many pieces as players. Each device shows one piece and three whole pictures.

**Alone:** More of the picture turns up as the clock runs down.

- Free

  ### Describe and draw

One of you says it out loud, the others draw it. No losers.

One device gets a secret word. The lines arrive on the describer's screen as they happen, and every drawing is shown at the end.

**Alone:** A three round game on one device.

- Unlock

  ### Memory across devices

The cards are spread over every device. Find the pairs together.

Twelve pairs. You flip a card on your own device when the current player asks you to, out loud.

**Alone:** Eight pairs on one screen.

- Unlock

  ### Treasure hunt

Hide one device in the room, then find it again by ear.

One device goes under a cushion or behind a door. Seekers press Beep and listen.

**Alone:** A five by five room of warmer and colder.

- Unlock

  ### Story chain

Lay down a card, say a sentence, and pass the story on.

Three illustrated cards each. The finished line saves as one picture.

**Alone:** One player gets everybody's cards, so there is still a story to tell.

- Unlock

  ### Race board

Shake to roll, move together, and do what the squares say.

Forty squares, and star squares the whole table acts out. No capture, and everybody plays until the last token is home.

**Alone:** The board plays against the app.

Ana's twelve

Beto's twelve

### One grid, dealt round the table

In Memory across devices the cards are dealt round the table, so each device holds a slice of one grid. On Ana's turn she says which cards to flip, out loud, and Beto flips one of his when she asks.

### Every game plays alone too

One device on its own is never a dead end: each game has a one-device mode, so the app still works when the cousins go home.

In the appSolo practice is the same games with one device, so you can learn them before the others arrive.

One unlock

## It says which device needs the unlock

A table can only play a game every device owns. The host sees a lock and the name of the device that needs it, rather than a silent no.

### Free

- Half a picture and Describe and draw**Yes, in full**
- Solo modes for the free games**Yes**
- Rounds and time played**Unlimited**
- Memory, treasure hunt, story chain, race board**No**

### With the unlock

- Half a picture and Describe and draw**Yes**
- Solo modes for the free games**Yes**
- Rounds and time played**Unlimited**
- Memory, treasure hunt, story chain, race board**Yes**

Two complete games, with their solo modes, are free for as many evenings as you like. The unlock is per device, and Family Sharing makes that one purchase for the household.

Privacy

## Nothing leaves the room

Before iOS asks about the local network, the table screen explains it in these words:

> Juntos needs to see the other phones and tablets in this room. Tap Allow when iOS asks about the local network. Nothing goes through the internet, and nothing leaves the room.

### Between the devices

Names, colours and the game, sent device to device over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in the room. No server in between, and no internet service at all.

### Kept on each device

A name and a colour: no age, no birthday, no photo. And a tally of games played, with the table's stars and nothing about who won, because nobody wins.

### Never

No account, no ads, no tracking. A finished story is only saved as a picture if somebody taps Save the story.

## Questions from the table

**Do we need Wi-Fi or a hotspot?**

No. The devices talk to each other directly over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios. There is no router, no hotspot and no internet involved.

**How far apart can the devices be?**

The same room. It is built for a table, a back seat or a sofa, not for another floor of the house.

**Does everyone at the table need to buy it?**

For the unlocked games, yes: the purchase belongs to a device. Family Sharing covers a household with one payment, which is how most tables will use it.

## Everyone at the table, no internet.

Juntos is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone and iPad. Half a picture and Describe and draw are free, with their solo modes, and one unlock per device adds the other four.
